Findagrave memorial:

Elizabeth Petty Dodson was born on 13 Mar 1813 in Halifax County, Virginia. Elizabeth, the daughter of William Thornton Dodson and Sallie Young Dodson, later moved with her parents and siblings to Davidson County, Tennessee where they settled near her uncle, Timothy Dodson, in the Hermitage area. She was the sister to Josiah Young, Watkins Hopkins, Lucy Ann, Robert J., and Sarah Dodson.

On October 19, 1838, she married Andrew James Benjamin Moore in Davidson County, Tennessee. He was born between 1804 and 1810 in Virginia according to census records. In 1850, the Moore family is living in the Hermitage area but by 1860, they had moved to Dyer County, Tennessee. Mr. Moore was a farmer and former business owner in Nashville, owning a saloon and dry goods business. Sometime between 1870 and 1880, Mr. Moore apparently died for in 1880, Elizabeth is shown to be a widow.

James and Elizabeth were the parents of Sarah Ann, Frances Elizabeth (Fannie), Martha, James K.P., Alexina Branch, Virginia (Jennie), William Watkins, Olevia D., Andrew E.,Joseph L., Edna (Emma), and Tennessee Moore.

According to Elizabeth's Death Certificate, she died on February 13, 1917 and was buried the next day on Valentine's day. Elizabeth's stone shows she was born 1820 and died 1917 which according to a cousin and distant descendent of Elizabeth's, the date on the stone was taken from the Moore bible. Family from many sides say she lived to be 103, nearly 104 at her death.

May you rest in peace "Little Grandma", which she was known as by many.

Burial: Bowen Chapel Cemetery  Friendship, Dyer County, Tennessee, USA
